Tamesis Partners introduces Mining Indaba’s Junior Mining Showcase to the 2018 programme

Tamesis Partners is partnering with the organisers of Africa’s largest mining event to launch the Junior Mining Showcase; a key initiative for next year’s Mining Indaba. From the 5th – 8th February 2018, Africa’s most promising, emerging miners are invited to take part in the Junior Mining Showcase and pitch their projects to the region’s most active investors, influential deal-makers and potential corporate partners. Through supporting the junior mining sector, we feel this initiative is a step in the right direction to return the principal focus of the Mining Indaba event to deal-making.

In 2017, Mining Indaba saw a big increase in the number of qualified investor delegates (71%) and mining corporate delegates (41%) attending the conference reinforcing its position as the largest gathering of investors and juniors in Cape Town. In 2018, Tamesis Partners is proud to be a part of the plan to make it much more efficient for this large number of investors to meet with those with projects to promote. The Junior Mining Showcase will consist of a dedicated deal-making space on the exhibition floor which will group together booths and meeting space for 60+ junior explorers, developers and miners with access restricted to qualified investors, corporate development teams and a select group of brokers and bankers.

As a partner of Mining Indaba, we’re happy to be able to announce a sponsorship discount available to our corporate clients who decide to take an exhibition booth or branded meeting room in the Junior Mining Showcase before the 30th September 2017. Buy-side members of our network also stand to benefit with complimentary, full-access passes on offer for the 2018 Mining Indaba and support from the conference’s dedicated IR team.

Along with the dedicated networking space, exhibition booths and private meeting rooms, the Showcase will also incorporate a forum allowing junior sponsors to present their investment stories on stage amongst a programme of thought-leadership content with an influential group of African and global mining professionals. This assures that more time is spent networking with the right people in a dedicated environment rather than in taxis travelling around Cape Town from meeting to meeting.

The standout success of this year’s Mining Indaba, the Investment Battlefield, also returns in 2018. This Shark Tank/Dragon’s Den-style competition will be enhanced to include even more mining entrepreneurs pitching their projects to managers of some of the world’s biggest mining funds. Directors of emerging mining companies with a market cap or asset base below US$50 million are encouraged to submit their interest in taking part and having the chance to win prizes such as a main stage presentation at the 2019 Mining Indaba!

If you are interested in attending the Junior Mining Showcase, taking part in the Investment Battlefield or applying for a complimentary Investor Delegate pass, please get in touch with your Tamesis Partners representative.
